Blonde Brownies (Chocolate Chip Bars)

9x9 pan version:

1/3 cup shortening
1 ¼ cup brown sugar (1 cup is plenty-pretty sweet)
2 eggs
1 ¼ cup AP flour
1 ¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
½ cup choc. Chips
½ cup nuts ( I usually left this out)

Oven 350 Blend short/sugar/eggs then add dry ingred. Then choc. Chips
9 x 9 pan for 30-35 min.

For Jelly Roll Pan:

2/3 c. Shortening
2 1/2 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
4 tsp. vanilla (if desired)

2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt

1 c. chocolate chips

Bake at 350 for 30- 35 minutes.

Grease the corners/edges of pan with Crisco otherwise crust sticks.
