Krum Kaka

 2 eggs

1/2 c. Butter

1 c. sugar

1 c. Milk

1 1/2 c. Flout

1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp salt


Beat eggs and softened butter then add the rest of the ingredients.

Fry on KrumKake iron for 60-90 seconds.

Roll on KrumKake form while still hot.

My iron set to 4 on heat.

Easy Sourdough Discard Pizza Crust

 1 C. Unfed Starter Straight from the Fridge

1/3 C. Water - lukewarm from the faucet - adjust as needed

1 1/2 C. All Purpose Flour

1/2 tsp. Salt

1 tsp. Baking Powder

1 tsp. Garlic Powder

MIX with spoon then once it starts to come together ADD 2 Tblsp. Olive Oil.

KNEAD well until a nice dough ball. Let set on counter about 30 mins.

Stretch out and use for pizza or put in a lightly greased container and set in fridge for use later in the week to make your pizza or breadsticks. (straight from fridge to the pan - no warm up required)

Add toppings - form into cheese breadsticks (top with parmesan) - calzone.

BAKE at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.

Fried Ice Cream Pan

 Party Pan of Fried Ice Cream - 9x13

ICE CREAM LAYER:

1/2 Gallon of Vanilla Ice Cream

1 -8 oz. container of Cool Whip

1 tsp. Cinnamon

MIX Ice Cream, Cool Whip and Cinnamon in mixer.


CRUNCH LAYERs:

4 C. Frosted Flakes

1/4 C. Sugar

1 tsp. Cinnamon

1 Stick of Butter

MELT Butter in Fry pan, add in Flakes, sugar and Cinnamon and fry slowly until golden brown.

Add 1/2 of CRUNCH mixture to the bottom of 9X13 pan then add ICE CREAM LAYER then top with remaining 1/2 of CRUNCH Mix - top off with chocolate syrup drizzle.

FREEZE.

May Serve with extra fried ice cream toppings or just enjoy plain. Yummy.

SOFT Mixer Sourdough Sandwich Loaf

 150 g Fed Starter

340 g Milk (2%)

100 g Cream

600 g Bread Flour

8 g Salt

105 g Honey


55g Butter - ROOM TEMP (1/2 Stick) - mix in later


Add starter, milk, cream, flour, salt and honey to stand mixer bowl and KNEAD for 7-10 min until ingredients are well incorporated and dough begins to ball up.

Next add in Small Chunks of BUTTER one at a time while mixer is running. Do NOT add another chunk until the last one is fully incorporated into the dough.

Once butter has been added - KNEAD for 15 MIN (Speed 2 ONLY - Kitchen Aid - mixer gets HOT) to achieve WINDOWPANE.

Move to Bowl to Rise - Cover and let RISE 6-8 hours - until doubled - does not bounce back when poked.

Once Risen - Oil and Flour - 2 ct. 5x9 bread pans. Set aside.

Flour Counter - Dump out Dough - Divide in 2 - Shape into Loaves.

(Can add in Cinnamon, Brown Sugar Swirl)

Place in Bread Pans and cover with plastic - either in bread bag where the tops won't get touched or oil tops of dough and drape plastic over - Goal to prevent drying out.

Let Rise again 4-6 hours or until 1-2 inches above pan edge.

BAKE: Preheat oven to 400 degrees - once heated add loaves and turn down to 350 degrees - Bake for 40 minutes.

COOL: Remove from pan after 10 min - Cool for 2 hrs before cutting.

Godmother's Chocolate Cake

3 C. Flour

2 C. Sugar

1/3 C . Cocoa

2 tsp. Soda

1 tsp. Salt

1 tsp. Vanilla

1 tsp. Almond Flav.

2 C. Cold Water

2 Tblsp. Vinegar

3/4 C. Oil

 9x 13 or 2 rounds - bake 350 degrees 35-40 minutes

24 Cupcakes  350 for 17-20 minutes

Lg. Round - 1 1/2 batch - 45-47 minutes

Lefse in an Instant!

 Mix Dry Ingredients: 

5 C. Instant Potato Flakes

1 tsp. salt

3 Tblsp. sugar


Mix Wet Ingredients:

1 C. Cream (whole milk or evaporated milk)

1/2 C. Oil

1 1/4 C. 7-up (have used Squirt as a sub and turns out fine)

2 1/4 C. Water


Mix wet and dry ingredients together. Let set or a few minutes to let instant flakes soak up the moisture.

Add in 2 C. Flour.


Roll into balls (about 1/4 C. per ball = 22ct.). Chill. 

Roll balls out into 11-12 inch circles and fry at 450 - 475 degrees on lefse grill.

Lay to cool under dish towels to keep moisture.

Christmas Chocolate Crinkles

Dry Ingredients: mix & set aside

2C Flour

1C Cocoa

2 tsp baking powder

½ tsp soda

1 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients: mix in mixer

3C Brown Sugar

4 Eggs

4 Egg Yolks

2 tsp vanilla

Melt:

4 oz bakers Chocolate (1 box)

8 oz Butter (1 stick)

 

Mix Wet Ingredients and Melted Ingredients – then slowly add in Dry Ingredients.

Once dough is mixed chill in fridge.

Once firm, dough can be rolled into balls and rolled in Powdered Sugar. 1 inch ball for small cookies and 2-inch balls for larger cookies.

Space about 2 inches apart on baking sheet and Bake for 8-11 minutes at 325 degrees.
