Grandma Mort’s (Edna Morton) Cake Doughnuts

4 beaten eggs
1 1/3 c. white sugar
1 1/3 c. butter milk
4 tablespoons melted shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon nutmeg

Grandma’s instructions: Mix well. Use a little flour to roll the doughnuts. Cool after cut and deep fry. Good luck getting them to taste just like Grandma Mort’s.
Grandma Morton was my maternal grandmother.
