Company Chicken Casserole

6 chicken thighs or breasts
6 slices American cheese or Swiss cheese, which is better
1 can cream of chicken soup
½ soup can of water
4 oz. seasoned stuffing
½ stick butter or margarine

Place chicken in a greased 9 X 13 inch pan. Put slices of cheese on meat. Mix water and soup; pour over chicken and cheese. Put stuffing or crushed croutons over soup. Melt margarine and drizzle over top. Bake at 300 degrees, uncovered for 1 hour. Then covered for about ½ an hour to finish. Uncover, and bake another 20 minutes until crisp on top. Quick method (but not as good) bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour.

Wow! Check out this site! Wanda, I make this dish but only in the crockpot - it is called Swiss Chicken Casserole I think. We all love it!
